PHMG Foundation: the year so far

Posted by PHMG Foundation on

At the start of 2017, we set our most ambitious CSR target to date, pledging to raise £50,000 for our 18 chosen charities worldwide. If we achieve this record-breaking total, the company has vowed to double the amount to an incredible £100,000 – and staff across the company have been putting their all into ensuring our 2017 goals are realised.

The last three months have been some of the busiest in our CSR calendar, with staff getting involved in a range of testing events for their chosen charities. Our Manchester Sales team conquered The Prestwich Challenge in June, wading through thick mud and freezing water to raise money for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. And the following weekend, our Music and Voice team scaled Mount Snowdon by moonlight to support befriender service Cyril Flint. This month, Saturday 12th August was one of the most jam-packed days for the PHMG Foundation so far – with staff on both sides of the Atlantic proving their commitment.

Over 40 staff from our Manchester office tackled Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the CF Trust. Despite facing extremely poor weather conditions, including wind, rain and fog, the group successfully reached the summit to fly the flag for the PHMG Foundation – and raised a huge £3,407 for two incredibly worthy charities. Over in Chicago, our North American Audio Brand Consultants took on The Warrior Dash – a 5k mud run with obstacles including the Warrior Summit and the Fisherman’s Catch. The team worked together to reach the finish line, and were rewarded with a total of $635 for the Inspiration Corporation. This money will go a long way to helping the Chicago charity, a provider of vital support for those affected by homelessness and poverty in the community.

These events and more have contributed to a fundraising total so far of over £39,000, meaning we’re well on the way to hitting our target this year. There’s plenty more activities lined up in the coming weeks, including the Blackpool Illuminations 10k, obstacle courses in both Manchester and London and a mammoth 2,500km running challenge.
